Village Square launched a major photo competition – Village Vibe: Rural India Through Your Lens – in late 2021 to promote a fresh narrative of rural India.
We received over 2,500 beautiful submissions across six categories: Her Life, A Hard Day’s Work, Healthy Living, Eco-friendly, Joyful Learning and Art, Culture & Festivals.
Three winners from each category were selected by an esteemed panel of judges as well as a People’s Choice Award for each category.
All the entries of winners and finalists were on display at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi from November 19 to December 5 – as seen in this video. Have a look and leave a comment!
The Village Vibe photo contest set out to change the narrative of deprivation and desolation that surrounds rural India. At Village Square we want to showcase all aspects of rural life in India – the good, the hard and the vibrant.
